Date: 10/14/2026 (Wed.)

Time: 3:00–4:30 PM

Location: Beta Classroom, first floor of Folsom Library
Workshop Description: In this interactive workshop, students will explore how AI tools, such as Grammarly, ChatGPT, and Claude, can support their writing and research processes. Drawing on current research in writing studies, students will work through authentic examples to examine problems that can arise when using AI in academic writing. They will practice crafting effective prompts and using AI to improve clarity and grammar while making sure they understand and evaluate the suggestions AI provides. Students will also consider when and how AI should or should not be used in academic work. They will leave with practical, evidence-based strategies for using AI thoughtfully and ethically while maintaining ownership of their work. Guest speaker’s bio: Titcha Ho is a Lecturer in English at Baruch College with extensive experience teaching writing and supporting multilingual writers.
