Through civic engagement, students contribute their time, energy, and unique talents to help communities in need. These unpaid experiential learning opportunities are related to a student’s field of study or career interests and are offered through groups and organizations external to RPI.

Requirements
- Civic Engagement experiences involve supervision by an individual who is knowledgeable in the field at the selected organization. A minimum of 260 hours must be dedicated to this semester-away opportunity.
- Students must satisfactorily complete a mandatory LMS course during their semester-away experience.
